It’s Back…

I don’t know if it is because I spectated a marathon a few weekends ago or the fact that the last 3 runs I have gone on have felt AMAZING, but I am getting the itch to run races and long races at that.

I love my cow bell and being a spectator

The itch to run is good, the itch to run long races is bad.

Just last week I made a group of friends hold me accountable that I would RUN NO MARATHONS in 2012. But all I want to do when I am on-line is search for the next best marathon to run. I searched marathons on active.com the other day and ended up sending my brother a few races I think he should run (He doesn’t even run. In my non-reality world my brother runs all around Denver and through the mountains with his super sweet dog Lena). Being how I have not gottten an email back from Spens, I am assuming he does not like my race suggestions. On a much better note I did sign up for a sprint triathlon that is on July 8th and my second 5k ever that is this weekend!

I know I could run a marathon in the fall if I put my mind to it, but I don’t think my body is ready for the stress. I need to let my body heal completely and to get used to running again. This Spring was the longest I have gone since I started running, when I did not run regularly and ran less than 6-10 miles per week.

I feel like I am still in good shape because of all the swimming and biking I have been doing, but then I go running and I feel like I have never exercised a day in my life.

As much as I want to run long this summer, I know that it is not a smart running decision for me. I am thankful that I can run right now and I would like to keep it that way.

So if you are running some awesome race this summer, please tell me when and where so I can get my cow bell and go spectate. I will be needing an outlet for my build up marathon enthusiasm.
