The Day I Attempted Zumba

After watching the Olympics for hours everyday when you exercise the next day do you pretend that you are also an Olympian?Or am I the only one who does this? Last night I watched swimming and diving like it was going out of style and I could not wait to get in the pool today. I got to the pool and was instantly teased for showing up at the pool two days in a row (this also means that I have not been at the pool enough the last month). When I told the pool director that he can now call me Missy Franklin he was very amused. But I figured I watched swimming for 2 hours that I would now be able to swim like Missy. I was saddened when I started swimming and I really wasn’t all that much faster or more efficient than the day before. News flash my flip turns still stink and I drink more pool water than any human should ever drink. Boo. I guess I need to keep practicing.

When I got out of the pool, I met a friend for Zumba class. Yup I went to Zumba. Go ahead and laugh. I laughed at myself the whole class. I am one stiff Zumbaer. I need some more practice for sure. It is hard to believe that my parents actually paid for me to take dance classes when I was growing up. You would have thought that I have never danced one day of my life.

Have you ever taken a Zumba class? Have any tips for newbies?
